Terms of Service

1. Booking and Payment

Reservation Confirmation: A reservation is confirmed once a deposit of 50% of the total booking amount is received. The balance is due upon check-in.
Payment Methods: EFT, credit card, or other payment methods as specified by B@HOME Guest House.
EFT Payments: Bookings paid via EFT will only be confirmed once proof of payment is emailed directly from your bank, along with a copy of your ID and driver's license.

2. Cancellation Policy

More than 28 days prior to arrival: Full refund of the deposit.
15 to 28 days prior to arrival: 50% of the deposit is forfeited.
Within 14 days prior to arrival: 100% of the booking value is due.
No-Show Policy: If a guest has not checked in by 20:00 on the day of arrival and no prior arrangements were made, the booking may be treated as a "No Show," and 100% of the total booking value will be charged.
Early Departures: No refunds for early departures.

3. Guest Registration and Identification

All guests must complete a registration form upon arrival.
Guests must present valid identification (passport, national ID, or driver’s license).
The guesthouse reserves the right to refuse service to guests who fail to provide valid ID.

4. Accommodation and Facilities

Room Access & Privacy: Guests have access to their rooms and private bathrooms at all times. Rooms have locks and keys for privacy.
Room Amenities: Air conditioning, heating, tile/marble flooring, flat-screen TV with satellite channels, wardrobe/closet, desk, seating area, socket near the bed, drying rack, fold-up bed (on request), private entrance.
Bathroom Amenities: Private bathroom with shower, toilet, towels, toilet paper, free toiletries.
Kitchen Facilities: Rooms include a refrigerator, microwave, and electric kettle for light meal preparation.
Views: Inner courtyard or garden view depending on room.

5. Shared & Outdoor Facilities

Outdoor Facilities: Garden, outdoor furniture, picnic area, BBQ facilities (additional charge), outdoor fireplace.
Parking: Free private parking available on-site; reservation not needed. Accessible parking available.
Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible; entire unit located on ground floor; facilities for disabled guests.

6. House Rules

Smoking: Non-smoking rooms; designated smoking areas available.
Pets: Pets allowed on request at no extra charge.
Family & Kids: Family rooms available; kid-friendly buffet, kid meals, and special diet menus on request.
Business Activities: Rooms are for accommodation purposes only; business activities require prior written consent.
Noise Levels: Guests are expected to maintain reasonable noise levels.
Shared Spaces: Shared lounge/TV area available.

7. Services

Daily housekeeping
Private check-in/check-out; express check-in/check-out available
Packed lunches on request
Ironing and laundry services (additional charges)
Invoice provision at check-in

8. Safety & Security

Fire extinguishers, smoke alarms, and security alarm installed
CCTV in common areas and outside property
24-hour security and key access

9. Liability and Indemnity

Guests use the facilities at their own risk. The guesthouse is not responsible for personal property loss or injuries.
Guests indemnify B@HOME Guest House against claims for loss, damage, or injury.

10. Privacy Policy (Integrated)

Collection of Personal Information: Personal information collected includes name, contact details, ID/driver’s license, payment information, and any special requests.
Purpose of Data Use: Information is used solely for managing bookings, providing services, processing payments, ensuring guest safety, and complying with legal requirements.
Data Sharing: Personal information will not be shared with third parties without consent, except as required by law.
Data Security: Appropriate security measures protect personal information from unauthorized access, loss, or theft.
Guest Rights: Guests may access, correct, or request deletion of their personal information in line with South Africa’s PoPIA.
Data Retention: Guest information is retained only as long as necessary for legal, accounting, or operational purposes.

11. General Terms

Governing Law: Republic of South Africa Dispute Resolution: Mediation or arbitration in Piet Retief, Mpumalanga Amendments: B@HOME Guest House may amend these terms at any time. Guests will be notified of significant changes. Acknowledgment: By making a reservation or staying at B@HOME Guest House, guests acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to abide by these Terms of Service, including the integrated Privacy Policy.
